South Africa has an incredible diversity of marine ecosystems, from coastal dunes, rocky shores and sandy beaches to muddy shelves and unique deep ecosystems where scientists still have so much to discover. All these ecosystems are home to their own set of weird and wonderful creatures, and benefit humans in many ways.
